Haley Scott DeMaria
Haley is an author, speaker, wife, mother, and educator. She is a proud Notre Dame (Swimming) alumna who strives to use her triumph over tragedy to make a difference in the lives of others. A convert to Catholicism, Haley’s faith has been defined by her life experience as well as the goodness of others.
In 2008, Haley wrote What Though the Odds - Haley Scott’s Journey of Faith and Triumph, chronicling her physical, emotional, and spiritual journey back from paralysis. Haley has spent over a decade sharing her story with audiences across the country, and has been the commencement address at three Universities, including her alma mater, Notre Dame (2012).
In 2020, Haley and Diane Hopkins, a healthcare executive, published Advice From a Patient, Insights From Those Who Needed Care, for Those Who Provide Care, as a companion to the compassionate care workshops they facilitate for medical professionals.
Haley and her husband, Jamie, live in Annapolis, Maryland. They have two boys, James and Edward, and two crazy dogs, Zane and Bruno.
